About Barton

Photography is more than an artistic outlet or a way for me to make a living. It is a means to experience all that life has to offer. I am always eager to meet community leaders, learn about innovative businesses, or witness people falling in love. Photography allows me to do all of that and much more.

My portfolio is as diverse as my client base. Contemporaries urge me to specialize in one genre of photography, but I like to shoot a little bit of everything…so I do! Whether it is a destination wedding, a commercial photography shoot, or an editorial assignment, I always apply my unique creative and personalized style to my work.

No matter what your objective may be, it is essential that my clients are pleased with my work. I will work closely with you to exceed your expectations for quality and customer service. From the initial proposal, through the shoot and to the delivery of the final edit, I aim to impress you with my skills as a visual storyteller. I hope that you will enjoy my company in the process.

When I am not out taking or editing photos I can usually be found enjoying wonderful Western Colorado. I am a professional ski instructor and an avid hiker. Recently, I have been learning how to mountain bike and paddle rivers. Some days I simply enjoy the sunshine from my favorite bench on Main Street.

Thanks for checking out my work!

Photographing a Beautiful Menu

One of my most favorite jobs as a photographer is when I get asked to to do menu and marketing images for a new restaurant. As a hobbyist epicure I love good-looking food just as much as I love good-tasting food. So being asked to photograph a professional chef’s...

An Early Morning Montrose Wedding.

Brittany’s family home was abuzz with activity when I arrived early Saturday morning. Bridesmaids in matching robes frantically brushed each others hair and applied heavy coats of eyeshadow. Siblings zipped around the house collecting cufflinks, corsages and other wedding accessories. Cell phones buzzed and beeped with messages about last-minute...
