San Juan Mountain Wedding

Sarah and Paul hired Switzerland of America Jeep tours to transport themselves and their guests from Ouray to their ceremony site at 12,000 feet in Yankee Boy Basin. There were actually two weddings taking place in Yankee Boy that day and it was the first wedding that I photographed where two wedding parties drank a toast to each other.

After the ceremony Sarah, Paul and I grabbed lunch and a beer at the Ouray Brewery and then cruised around town taking pictures of the couple in the awesome Rocky Mountain scenery. (We let the tourists take a few pictures too!) We were a little late to the reception at The Secret Garden Bed and Breakfast, not that it could really start without us. The evening was punctuated by some very touching toasts, a delicious meal catered by The Secret Garden and, of course, dancing! See more West Slope Weddings.
