2017 Weddings in Review

For my last “Wedding Photography Year in Review,” I chose to focus on the lesser seen moments during weddings. This year I want to expand on that to include some of the peripheral scenes and sub-plots that surround weddings. Weddings offer the perfect opportunities to observe new friends meeting for the first time, old friends reconnecting for the first time in a long time, or non-friends hanging out together. Your wedding may be the only time in history where all […]

Destination Ouray

After the first phone call with Andy, I was excited to photograph his and Desiree’s wedding in Ouray, Colorado. I could tell that these two would be an exceptionally fun couple to spend a day with. Following their small family ceremony at The Beaumont Hotel we had some homemade cake and set out to take some wedding photos around the town of Ouray. We saw Desiree’s grandfather’s former home, the historic Ouray County Courthouse, the famed Ouray Ice Park, and […]

Second Chances

Second chances and do-overs are not something we talk much about in the wedding industry. In the case of John and Susan, I’ll make an exception. Their wedding was a second wedding for both of them and they were such a great couple. They had a very small elopement ceremony on the Grand Staircase at the Beaumont Hotel in Ouray, Colorado (in fact it was just the two of them, the officiant and me). Afterwards I drove us all up […]

Elopement at Bridal Veil Falls

Matt and Katie wanted to elope and do something that was completely unique. The power station that sits atop Telluride’s Bridal Veil Falls is closed to the public but Matt was able to pull some strings within his company to gain access. It was freezing cold but the couple and guests were in great spirits and the view was incredible! We even did some bridal pushups!
