2016 Weddings in Review

In compiling 2016’s “Year in Review” I wanted to take a somewhat different tack and showcase some photos that are more off-beat. I look at A LOT of wedding images and I grow tired of looking at the expected, formulaic and overly-processed images that seem to decorate the entire wedding industry. So rather than just showing off those perfect moments I’m going to mix in some out-takes, happy accidents, and just fun moments that are often seen at weddings but […]

Montrose Bridges Wedding

Repeat business in the wedding industry is unusual (and not really something you hope for) but I felt so honored to photograph Erika and Jake’s wedding at The Bridges of Montrose. Back in 2012 I photographed Erika’s older sister’s, wedding and the family wanted to hire me again! Aside from the venue and the groom it the two weddings were remarkably similar with lots of family, dancing, laughter and kinship. It was so nice to see and visit all of […]

Gateway Canyons Resort Styled Shoot

Earlier this year I was asked to photograph a styled wedding at Gateway Canyons Resort outside of Grand Junction, Colo. In case you are unfamiliar with the town of Gateway, there is not much there except a gas station, amazing vistas and this top notch resort. I had a great time working with our models, Michael and Jenna, our stylists, Elite Events Grand Junction, Wild Rose Cakes, and the great staff at Gateway Canyons! Check out more weddings and engagements […]

Palisade Winery Wedding

For destination weddings it is not uncommon that I don’t get to meet the bride and groom until the day of the wedding. We communicate via email and telephone and everything comes together in the end. That was no exception for Cejka and Sully, a Florida couple who were getting married at Amy’s Courtyard in Palisade, Colorado. As it turned out, however, the bride and I had been classmates in high school! It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the […]

San Juan Mountain Wedding

Sarah and Paul hired Switzerland of America Jeep tours to transport themselves and their guests from Ouray to their ceremony site at 12,000 feet in Yankee Boy Basin. There were actually two weddings taking place in Yankee Boy that day and it was the first wedding that I photographed where two wedding parties drank a toast to each other. After the ceremony Sarah, Paul and I grabbed lunch and a beer at the Ouray Brewery and then cruised around town […]

Rachel and Braden were a beautiful couple to photograph and wonderful people to work with. Their wedding was hosted by Five Winds Ranch on the Grand Mesa near Grand Junction, Colorado. The party continued late into the night. Check out more weddings and engagements at www.bartonglasserphotography.com/wedding.

Winter Wonderland Wedding

There may have only been a few days of winter this season but Ash and Karla lucked out and got a winter wonderland wedding for their small ceremony at the historic Beaumont Hotel in Ouray, Colorado. As far as couples go, Ash and Karla were the couple that every photographer dreams of working with. They were truly wonderful people and they had a natural chemistry that made every shot easy. They also had an adventurous side that made for some […]

Ouray Destination Wedding

Robbie and Chanse loaded up their jeep, invited a few close friends and family, and drove from North Texas to Ouray, Colorado to tie the knot 12,000 feet high in the San Juan Mountains. The ceremony was held in Yankee Boy Basin and the reception at the Beaumont Hotel in Ouray. They even had a chocolate fountain. Check out more weddings and engagements at www.bartonglasserphotography.com/wedding.

The Flying Bride of Telluride

As we were loading the gondola in Mountain Village for Sarah and Rick’s elopement and commitment ceremony I mentioned that I had never seen a bride on the bungee trampoline. She laughed it off dismissively at first but by the end of the day the bride was flying high over Telluride. So much fun!

Telluride Destination Wedding

As regular attendees of the Telluride Film Festival, Alisha and Graig fell in love with the tiny mountain town. They always wanted to share the charm of Telluride with their friends and family but they had a hard time convincing them to travel to such an isolated location. That changed once they decided to hold a destination wedding over an entire weekend in June. The weekend began with a Thursday evening rehearsal dinner. Friday began with ceremony with catered hors […]
