Most weddings and engagement shoots take place in the summer or fall, that is why I was thrilled when I met Tate and Gretta. Not only did they book me for their winter wedding in Downtown Grand Junction but they also hired me for a snowy engagement shoot on the Grand Mesa. I met the couple at Mesa Lakes in January and we got to work. The low clouds made for some wonderfully soft light to work with and every now and then big fluffy snowflakes would fall on us, it was like photographing inside a snow globe.
The whole afternoon was pretty magical. The only problem was that I kept sinking up to my waist in the deep snow, next time I’ll have to remember to bring my snowshoes!
